Barbecue season is underway. Poles like grilled food, because our cuisine has been based on meat and fatty dishes for centuries. We like to fry, cook – and less often we choose healthier methods of food preparation. Unfortunately, not everyone follows the rules of healthy grilling, and we should do it, because grilling is one of the most dangerous methods of food processing for us.

Inadequate grilling contributes to the fact that carcinogens get into our food, which are naturally formed during combustion, and in greater amounts when using artificial “lighters”, e.g. in liquid. To prevent this, use the grill trays and special grills described below. People who want to lead a healthy lifestyle should be especially careful when preparing grilled dishes.

Rules for healthy grilling. What should we remember?

  1. First: choosing the right grill. The healthiest is the electric grill, because when using it, no substances related to combustion are created during grilling. However, such a device will not always give us the same taste of food as a normal grill, which we use most often and which should be lit. That is why most people, however, tend to choose a charcoal grill. However, if we choose a charcoal grill, we should choose a model that has a special tray for fat flowing from the food. It should also be designed in such a way as to shield the grilled food from the escaping smoke.
  2. Second: choosing the right meat for grilling. Since during grilling we usually eat much more than our body needs, it is better to choose leaner meats or focus on grilling vegetable skewers. It is also worth grilling fish, which, prepared in this way, acquire a beautiful aroma. It is also reasonable to remind you that, after all, even the most fatty meat loses a large part of its fat during long grilling. So if we want to be tempted by such a dish – the best way to prepare it will be grilling.
  3. Third: grill accessories. As we have already mentioned, in addition to meat, it is worth betting on vegetables, i.e. on natural vitamins and minerals. What grills well? Zucchini, peppers, tomatoes – which can be stuffed with aromatic feta cheese and fresh herbs. Tasty, simple and most importantly – healthy!

Preparation for healthy grilling

This may seem trivial, but first of all, wash your hands before you start grilling. According to research – admittedly conducted in America – only 44 percent. of people preparing grilled food, or outdoor food in general, wash their hands before starting preparations. Even worse, as much as 40 percent. of us use the exact same utensils to store raw and then processed meat, without washing them. Following these rules will help to avoid poisoning and will certainly be beneficial for our health.
