For any woman, visiting a gynecologist is stressful. Even when everything is in order, we anxiously sit under the door of the antenatal clinic and wait for an examination: what if they say something wrong? Will they be rude or ridiculed? Almost every girl had a couple of cases that I don’t want to remember. We asked our friends, journalists and girls, the question: what should be an ideal gynecologist?
Marina, 25 years old: “A couple of times I encountered a disrespectful attitude – in the clinic you can make an appointment with any free gynecologist, but I was interrogated with passion why I didn’t go to the one to which our house was attached. And I didn’t know who they were talking about, since I was glad to come there. I think that an ideal gynecologist should not confuse girls with his questions – both about paperwork and about their lifestyle. Well, the eternal “You are already 25, when will you give birth to children?” – completely unthinkable. This is my personal business, which I would not like to devote to a stranger.
The ideal gynecologist must respect my choices and the boundaries of my personality.
Irina, 16 years old: “In secondary school we had a medical examination, and for the girls there was a compulsory visit to a gynecologist. Of course, everyone was afraid, especially those of us who were already sexually active. What were you afraid of? They feared the disapproval of their classmates about what the doctor would tell the parents or the “class” – the children are very cruel and would never miss the opportunity to pin up a girl who had distinguished herself. There was fear – beyond words! But, oddly enough, everything went smoothly – of course, any deviation was a question only of the doctor and the patient. I believe that the ideal gynecologist will never discuss patients either with his environment or with his colleagues – this is a medical secret. “
Adele, 31 years old: “I will never forget that in the district clinic of my hometown there were always cold steel expanders, after which the crotch ached for another week. Now I use the services of a private gynecologist – they are plastic and not cold at all, and after the examination I do not feel any discomfort. I think the ideal gynecologist should think about the comfort of his patient. By the way, in the same polyclinic of my childhood, doctors clearly lacked tact: “Who gave you this diagnosis? What nonsense? ” – and I already felt that way, it was me who was wrong, not his colleague.
Maria, 26 years old: “In my opinion, an ideal female doctor should be a young and modern person who understands what life in a metropolis is and a constant lack of time. For example, my doctor is 31-32 years old, she is always very attentive and pleasant to talk to. Most of all I liked that at the very first appointment she gave her phone number and said that I could save my time and find out the results of the examination by writing her an SMS in three days. In my opinion, this is a real gift of fate. “
