Either flowers, or aliens. Look at these almost fantastic plants and your life will never be the same. Succulents surprise with bizarre shapes and unusual colors. Among them there are gorgeous beauties and very strange specimens.
In fact, the Latin term “succulents” hides indoor flowers well known to us from childhood, such as cacti, aloe, Kalanchoe or money tree. The group is united by a specific type of stems and leaves – juicy, as if waxy. This is how the plants adapted to the arid desert climate in which they live in the wild. The tissues are filled with moisture, and the leaves are rounded to reduce evaporation. And some, for example lithops (living stones), also disguise themselves as terrain – in a rocky area they cannot be distinguished from stones.
Today, home growers grow more than 500 types of succulents at home, and most of them are suitable for beginners. These plants love sun, warmth and light, do not like abundant and frequent watering. Few people know, but even when transplanting cacti, you do not need to water the plant for 5 days to heal the damaged areas. In the summer, they can be safely taken out to the balcony or personal plot. By the way, succulents also feel great on flower beds in the southern regions. And creeping species, such as sedum, are able to displace all “neighbors” on the site and even weeds.

To grow them, you have to work hard. But the result is worth it: succulents fit well into the interior, you can make interesting compositions with them, plant them in glass boxes.
