When Georgy Primakov, the creator of the Yablokov brand, bought shares in a bankrupt state farm in the Tuapse district in 2002, he had not yet planned to produce apple chips and crackers. The farm, on the territory of which desolation reigned, in ten years turned into a blooming garden. Now, on a thousand hectares of land, there are hundreds of thousands of trees that bear abundant fruit — 10,000 tons of apples alone are harvested every year. And the farm “Novomikhailovskoe” is rich in pears, peaches, plums and hazelnuts. The Kuban land turned out to be generous!
How we decided to make apple chips
Apples in Russia will not surprise anyone, so the rich harvests of the varieties “gala”, “idared”, “granny smith”, “golden delicious”, “prima” and “Renet simirenko” prompted Georgy Primakov to a wonderful idea — after consulting with his son and daughter, he decided to produce fruit snacks. He wanted to find a healthy and delicious alternative for lovers of potato chips and salted crackers with monosodium glutamate. Why buy junk food if you can crunch crackers and chips made from apples and pears with health benefits? George was particularly concerned about the children’s health — after all, this is the future of the Russian nation. A doctor by profession, he knew the risks to their health. He wanted children’s bodies to get vitamins, trace elements, pectins, and healthy fiber instead of trans fats, flavor enhancers, flavors, colorants, and preservatives. Said and done. He built a factory, and apples directly from the gardens began to fall into the infrared dryers. Beautiful, delicious and fragrant apple rings are placed in a sterile sealed package and sent to stores, to Moscow food factories, kindergartens and hospitals. Growing a garden is like raising a child
Georgy Primakov treats his work with all responsibility, investing in the land not only money, but also his soul. He compares a garden to a small child.
“Trees need to be wrapped up for the winter, protected from rodents, fed, watered and treated. How many stones we removed from the plots! And How long is still to be taken out… Every tree needs care and love, and before we plant a new seedling, we prepare the ground for several years. We have a mountainous area, and here gardening has its own characteristics. We have to do a lot of things that are not relevant in farms on the plain. And the trees feel the care and in return reward us with a generous and delicious harvest.”
The main advantage of Yablokov products is that the fruits ripen in an ecologically clean area, on the Black Sea coast. They are sorted, the best fruits are laid aside, washed, cleaned, cut, dried and packed.
